Introducing the second generation of escapement demonstration models

Following the success of the first of my escapement demonstration models, I've developed an upgraded second-generation series of models. These feature several substantial upgrades.

A heavier, textured base

The first and most noticeable upgrade is the redesign of the base of the model. The Generation 1 models featured a lightweight four-legged base. The new upgraded second generation of models uses a fully enclosed base construction with an improved textured finish.

Built to be displayed, not just stored

Adopting a fully enclosed base has allowed for a slot to be included on the rear of the model. This allows the model to be displayed on the wall but also easily removed and replaced as required.

Silicone feet

To reduce sliding around of the model during use, I have added four silicone feet to the base of the model. These fit snugly into a circular recess in the base. When wall-mounted the silicone feet sit against the wall, mitigating the risk of damage to paintwork.

A branded presentation box

The second generation of the model comes in a branded card box with magnetic closure. This provides a more practical storage solution as the models can be more easily stacked or stored on a bookcase, where the escapement type is displayed on the spine. Upon request from the customer, the second generation of the model can be supplied in a fitted 3D-printed plastic box, as per the generation 1 models.
